1987 - 85m.

After the cliched set-up that trots out junky jokes and the typical party starved young couples heading out to the woods to go camping; this well-intentioned slasher flick has them being stalked and killed by the "Berserker"; a manical man of Viking legend who wears a bear snout and is quite insane (this we're told around the usual "campfire legend" sequence).

While there's much worse out there this effort from writer/director Richard doesn't work due to having lots of murky and dark scenes that are confusingly shot and a script that loses its by-the-book footing (by trying to throw some mystical plot-twists in) and gets too muddled to be able to recover.

It's not horrible, it's just frustratingly handled. The scene where Richard intercuts sex and a gore death was a nice try; but just manages to make you even more confused.
