Good intentions abounds this so-so and silly horror monster movie from writer/director Drzick about two firefighters who unearth a demon skull while hunting in the woods only for it to unleash a body part slinging monster canine; just can't overcome the various shortcomings in the script.
As a director Drzick does okay but his script piles on way too many attempts at humour (mostly about hamsters, which gets annoying after time) and sorta "blah" characterizations for this to be any more than average. Also suffers from poor acting, a weak (but ok in concept) rubbery monster and some pretty laughable moments (such as a character being woken by hot coffee in the face, the "f-king devil dog!" conversation and completely silly "fingers in the backpack" scene).
As is, sort of passable, but a good effort that may be improved upon in the now-in-production sequel.
