Woefully inane sci-fi-horror opens in an Alien-like way in 2032 Mars where two astronauts find a huge rock filled with crystal. Little did they know it's also got in it a malicious alien that proceeds to terrorize and murder the crew members. That is until the totally out of left field finale that has a remorseful and friendly alien who likes to play checkers and have deep conversations with the last two crew members it didn't kill earlier in the film.
Stale dialogue along with some unconvincing actors, poor attempts at humour and the aforementioned totally pathetic plotting switch makes this a virtually unwatchable waste of celluloid.
How can you like a movie that spends its last third having the characters sitting around bored while the alien does the same thing? Laughable (at least) for the jive-talking African-American crew member, the Psycho rip-off music and the scene in which the control panel flashes wildy to disco music.
